Council’s new operations manager ready for challenges ahead

LYME Regis Town Council’s new operations manager is now settled into his role and is looking forward to the challenges ahead.

Matt Adamson-Drage took up the post in August, after recently leaving the Royal Air Force.

Matt, who lives in Raymonds Hill, took over from Elliott Herbert, who left the organisation to work for the RNLI.

Commissioned in 1998 into the Fighter Control specialisation, Matt has served all over the world, managing air operations and staff across the globe in crisis and conflict.

Most recently, he led staff in military space operations and coordinated air operations for the Royal Marines.

Matt is now ready to take on new challenges in his role with the town council. He said: “I am looking forward to bringing my operational management experience to bear for the local community.

“It was a privilege to serve my country and now I have a wonderful opportunity to serve our beautiful town and support our eager staff and strong team of voluntary councillors.

“We are all united and determined to make Lyme the best it can be.

“I am particularly proud to be joining at a time when the council has achieved so much for the community, from the Anning Road playground and skatepark, to beach showers and reinstating the town bus service, something other towns have lost.

“All this has been achieved without increasing the council tax precept. But there’s so much more on the horizon, from the Marine Parade toilets to disabled signage in the gardens, and I intend to get stuck in.”
