The Town Council has three standing committees: Planning, which comments on local planning applications submitted to West Dorset District Council, Policy, which considers all matters financial and general to the council and makes recommendations on these to Full Council, and the Community Plan Inplementation Committee. A number of working groups and sub-committees investigate specific matters in more detail before reporting to the Policy Committee. These groups meet on an ad hoc basis as required.
Planning Committee Chairman - Cllr Ken Meech Vice-Chairman - Cllr Mrs. L. Jenkin Members of the public are welcome to observe the proceedings. Public comment - Planning Committee Prior to consideration of each planning application representations will be invited from members of the public either objecting to, or in support of, the application subject to requests having previously been notified to the Town Clerk. Individuals will be permitted a maximum of three minutes each to address the Committee. Policy Committee Chairman - Cllr Ms. Sally Holman Vice-Chairman - Cllr Ken Meech Public comment - Policy Committee Time will be made available for public comment and response in relation to items on each agenda at the beginning of each meeting in the 'Public Forum' item. Individuals will be permitted a maximum of three minutes each to address the Committee Community Plan Implementation Committee Chairman - Cllr Stanley Willians Vice-Chairman - Cllr Mrs. Ann Bradbury Public comment - Community Plan Implementation Committee Time will be made available for public comment and response in relation to items on each agenda at the beginning of each meeting in the 'Public Forum' item. Full Council Chairman (Town Mayor) - Cllr Mrs. Michaela Ellis Vice-Chairman (Deputy Town Mayor) - Cllr Owen Lovell Public comment - Full Council There is a 'Public Forum' session prior to the start of each Full Council meeting during which 'residents and others genuinely affected by the proposals, decisions and actions of Lyme Regis Town Council' may raise issues of concern at the discretion of the Chairman. Working Groups/Sub-Committees Meetings of working groups are not open to the public however expert advice from outside the Council is sometimes sought by invitation for specific topics.
