The Lyme Regis Town Cemetery is situated on the northern side of Charmouth Road opposite the Lyme Regis Football club ground. The Cemetery is maintained by the town council's staff. Arrangements for burials within the Lyme Regis Cemetery can be made through any local Funeral Director. Local Memorial Masons can also aid you in designing a memorial for a grave within Cemtery regulations.
Burial Records
In the office we hold detailed records of all burials made in the Cemetery, some dating back to the eighteen hundreds. On request it is possible to look at these records. For many researchers this is a practical and easy way to discover more about the family tree.
For further information on the Lyme Regis Cemetery or Burial Records, please email: admin@lymeregistowncouncil.gov.uk Please note we do not hold records for the burial area around St Michael's Parish Church. These burial records are held by the Dorset County Record Office, who can be contacted on: (01305) 250550. They also hold historical electoral role information and old ordnance survery maps amongst many other documents. |
