Aim

To promote the town as welcoming, interesting and varied, so that it attracts visitors throughout the year, with the result that the economic and cultural benefits of tourism are realised to the advantage of the town.

To maintain the existence, credibility and usefulness of the town guide and tourism website

To recommend relevant charges

To make recommendations to council on broader publicity and advertising issues affecting the town

To work within the established policy and framework of co-operation between the Town Council and District Council in relation to the promotion of tourism

To exercise delegated authority in respect of the allocation of funds from approved budgets indicated in the summarised accounts under the composite heading of 'Tourism'

Public Participation

The public's attendance and participation at meetings of the Tourism & Advertising Sub-committee is welcome. Each meeting commences with a 15 minute session in which members of the public can speak in relation to an item on the published agenda
