Permanent Full time (37hrs Monday to Friday)
Salary £27,052 - £30,011

The Town Council is a major stakeholder in the visitor economy, operating and managing the seafront and beaches, car parks, public open spaces and other related infrastructure. The authority has an extensive property portfolio which generates the larger proportion of an annual income of over £1,000,000 only 12% of which is attributable to the precept (council tax).

The Council is seeking to appoint an experienced manager to work with the Town Clerk and deputise in his absence. The successful applicant will be expected to undertake programmes of work as well as working autonomously and have experience of managing staff, land and property. Good communication skills at all levels are essential as is experience of administering contracts. Some evening and weekend work will be required. Previous experience with town councils is desirable. The Town Council is working towards Quality Council Status and will therefore require the successful candidate to already hold, or be prepared to obtain, the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) within 18 months of taking up the post.

Gardener/Maintenance Person

Permanent Full time (In general a 37 hour, 5 day week will operate although some  weekend working may be required)
Salary £14,733 - £15,444

A vacancy has arisen within the Town Council staff for a Gardener/Maintenance Person to assist with the upkeep of all Council grounds and property, as part of a team under the direction of the Works Supervisor.

Applicants must possess some knowledge of orderly ground conditions, including soil cultivation and site preparation, together with cultural operations involving trees and shrubs.  Experience of general property maintenance and the use of associated tools and equipment is desirable.
