Deputy Town Clerk     

Full-time, 37 hours’ per week

SCP 40-45 (£51,356- £57,139 - pay award pending)

The council is seeking to appoint a forward-thinking deputy town clerk who can work alongside the town clerk to manage the council's statutory requirements and promote the interests of the town.

The Planning Committee meeting scheduled to take place on 01 September has been cancelled.

Notice given of councillor vacancy

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN

Pursuant to Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972, that Neil Hampton-Rumbold has ceased to be a Member of the Town Council, and that a vacancy now exists in the office of Councillor for the Town Council.

If within 14 days after the date of this notice (i.e. no later than 21 September, 2026), a request for an election to fill the vacancy is made either in writing to the Returning Officer, Electoral Services, Dorset Council, County Hall, Dorchester, Dorset, DT1 1XJ or by email to elections@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk by TEN electors for the Town, an election will be held to fill the vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.

If an election is called, it will take place not later than 23 November 2026
