A35/Elsdon’s Lane safety improvements:
22 January to early March 2023
National Highways operates, maintains and improves England’s motorways and major A-roads. Work to improve safety at this junction will begin on 22 January and take approximately 5.5 weeks to complete. The work will be completed mainly Monday to Friday during daytime hours; however, some work will also take place overnight when traffic flows are at their lowest.

Traffic management
24/7 lane 2 closure and a 40mph speed limit will be in place from approximately Green Lane to Westover Hill. This will be switched to a lane 1 westbound closure on 21 February. A convoy system will be in place for a few shifts at the beginning, middle and end of the scheme. The entrance/exit from Eldon’s Lane to/from the A35 will be closed for the duration of the scheme and a locally signed diversion will be in place.
