VE Day 75 celebrations scheduled to take place in early-May have been cancelled.
Following the cancellation of VE Day events nationally over the weekend of May 8 to 10, the town council has taken the decision to cancel events in Lyme Regis.
The early May Bank Holiday has already been moved to Friday, May 8, in recognition that at 3pm on May 8 1945, Prime Minister Winston Churchill announced the war in Europe was over.
It is hoped the events can be postponed until 15 and 16 August for VJ75 Day celebrations.
