Dorset Council Community & Culture Project Fund Round 4

Dorset Council Community & Culture Project Fund Round 4

New funding round to reopen for community and cultural organisations.

Are you looking to make a difference in your local community?

Round 4 of the Community and Culture Project Fund will open at 9am on Friday 4 November 2022.

Do you have a sports, arts, or heritage project or event you wish to get off the ground? Or are you looking to support disadvantaged communities in the Dorset Council area? This fund could provide up to 80% of your total project costs up to a maximum of £5,000. If successful, you must be able to deliver your project, activity or event within 12 months of a grant being awarded to your group. You will also need to secure a minimum of 20% of your total project's costs.

Newly established organisations (who have been in existence for less than 12 months) that are not able to provide a full set of annual accounts will be considered but you can only apply for a maximum of £1,500 and will if successful need to provide evidence of appropriate insurance, safeguarding and have in place a constitution and a current bank account.

IMPORTANT

In this current round we welcome all applications for ‘community’, cultural, arts, physical activity and heritage themed projects. If you are a community group seeking funding for a ‘community’ themed project, you need to be aware that we will prioritise applications that support people with the cost-of-living challenges in their local community.

The types of cost-of-living projects that will be considered will focus on:

  • community warm spaces especially in rural areas
  • community food projects including lunch clubs and dinner clubs
  • foodbanks
  • Low level mental health well-being support

Applications from other groups such as arts, museums, heritage, as well as physical activity and play organisations are welcome in this round and grants for these areas will not prioritise cost-of-living.

To apply for a grant, you will need to complete an online application form.  Closing dates are as advertised on the council's webpage with the exception of cost-of-living applications. These will we assessed from early December and cost-of-living applicants will be notified of the outcome before the 15 December 2022 to allow funds to reach vulnerable groups before winter. Late applications will not be considered.

If having read the criteria and fund eligibility you are still unsure on whether or not to apply, or you wish to discuss the suitability of your project then please contact a member of the team on communities@dorsdetcouncil.gov.uk.

Finally, if you need help with any of the supporting policies that we require there is help available – please visit the webpage for further details.
