Easter Activities at the Lyme Regis Museum

Easter Activities at the Lyme Regis Museum

The Easter holidays are just around the corner and Lyme Regis Museum is offering a fun-packed programme of family-friendly, drop-in activities alongside their popular walk programme, with something for everyone to enjoy this Spring.

In the Museum there are a whole host of hands-on workshops to enjoy linked to the Museum’s collections and led by local Artists including clay modelling, print making, 3D modelling and dinosaur origami. Activities are FREE with admission and there is no need to book in advance.

Visitors can also learn all about the amazing ammonites that lived in the Jurassic seas of Lyme Regis and polish their own 200 million year old fossil to take home in one of the Museum’s Fossil Polishing sessions or discover Lyme’s fascinating past and its spooky side on one of their Town History or Ghost Walks!

In the Museum visitors will find fossils galore in the interactive geology gallery, a family-friendly learning centre, local history, famous writers and the story of Lyme’s most famous fossil hunter - Mary Anning. The ‘Mary Anning’s Thunderbolts’ exhibition is included in the admission price as well as the new contemporary art exhibition ‘Treasures – Scavenged Finds from Black Ven' by local Artist, Christine Allison.

The Museum’s ever popular expert-led Fossil Walks run most days (tide dependent) and the Walk ticket includes Museum entry in its price. And for families, an annual pass offers the chance to enjoy unlimited visits and activities over the Easter period, a great value option to keep children occupied in the school holidays!
