LYME Regis Town Council is inviting the public to help shape its views on the Dorset Council Local Plan.
Dorset Council launched a consultation on the Local Plan on 18 January and is asking the public and local stakeholders to give their feedback.
Once adopted, the plan will guide decisions on planning applications in Dorset until 2038.
It outlines the strategy for the growth Dorset needs, for development in suitable places, for community services including schools, retail, leisure and community facilities, and for the appropriate character and quality of development.
As part of the consultation, Dorset Council is holding a series of related webinars on key themes within the plan and has produced several podcasts to help explain some of the principal issues.
There is also a local plan phone line, 01305 252500, and paper copies are available at local libraries.
To support the consultation and to gather local views, Lyme Regis Town Council is inviting the public to the virtual Planning Committee meeting on 16 February at 7pm when members will discuss the council’s response to the consultation.
The public can give their comments and help inform the council’s response.
Anyone wishing to attend and speak is asked to notify the council in advance at admin@lymeregistowncouncil.gov.uk or 01297 445175.
The agenda for the meeting will be available from 11 February on the council website at www.lymeregistowncouncil.gov.uk/planning-committee
The public are also encouraged to respond individually to the consultation, which closes on 15 March.
