BONFIRE Night events in Lyme Regis have been cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus restrictions.
Organisers have announced today the fireworks and bonfire on the beach would not be going ahead as planned on Saturday 7 November.
Organiser Alan Vian said: "We are very sad that, after consultation with Lyme Regis Town Council, we have had to cancel the fireworks display which was to be held on November 7 in Lyme.
"We know that in previous years people have travelled for long distances to join with those of us who live in Lyme to see one of the best displays on the south coast.
"The virus has had such an impact on all of us in Lyme and we had hoped to cheer everyone up with the fireworks display. We are hoping for better things in 2021."
