Free public photo exhibition | September – November 2025 | Various venues along the Dorset Coast

To mark 30 years of the Dorset Coast Forum, a powerful new photo exhibition titled Coastal Life Stories will tour venues along the Dorset coast from September to November 2025.

Launching on 8th September at Weymouth Library, the exhibition celebrates the individuals and organisations working passionately to protect and support the future of Dorset’s coastline and communities.

This free public exhibition showcases the dedication, passion, and impact of coastal champions - from conservationists and community volunteers to educators and local businesses. Through expressive photography and storytelling, Coastal Life Stories shines a light on the unsung heroes safeguarding Dorset’s unique coastal environment. Izzy Kelsall, of Dorset Coast Forum and curator of the exhibition, said:

“It has been inspiring listening to all our coastal champions’ stories —those who care deeply about our coast and work tirelessly to ensure its future. We hope it inspires others to get involved and appreciate the incredible work happening all around us.”

One of the featured champions, Ali Ferris from Charmouth Heritage Centre, shared:

“It is wonderful to be included as a coastal champion. I’ve felt passionate about the Dorset and Devon coast since childhood. Through my work, I aim to educate others on why this heritage coastline is so special—whether it’s discovering a shark egg or fossil, joining a beach clean, or simply pausing to admire the scenic landscapes.”

Coastal Life Stories will be hosted at various venues across Dorset, offering residents and visitors a chance to engage with the stories and images that reflect the region’s vibrant coastal spirit.
