Connections Creative Scrapbooking Sessions

Connections Creative Scrapbooking Sessions

NEW ‘Connections’ Creative Scrapbooking Sessions for well-being and pleasure

Lyme Regis Museum are collaborating with Artist Christine Allison to offer a series of creative scrapbooking sessions starting in September inspired by the Museum’s collection. The sessions will offer participants the opportunity to create their own personal and meaningful book inspired by themes presented by Christine and through connections made to items in the Museum.

Held on Thursdays, 2-4pm, throughout the Winter and Spring in the Museum, the sessions will be suitable for all adults but especially those who may be elderly, isolated or lonely or facing life issues and would benefit from social interaction and new interests. Participants are not required to be ‘good at art’ and full practical support will be given by Christine.

Attendees will be introduced to a range of skills including drawing, watercolour painting, pen work and collage with the aim of creating a scrapbook journal of work to keep and treasure.

Themes will make connections between objects in the museum, personal experiences and memories through sharing words and images. Found objects, magazine cuttings, photographs, drawing, painting and writing will be used to create beautiful picture book style pages.

Artist Christine Allison said, “These sessions will be safe, relaxed, joyous, creative and stimulating and the books that will be created will be something to treasure and be proud of. We hope that attendees, some of whom may not be familiar with the museum, will develop a new and interesting relationship with the museum and find it a calm, yet stimulating place to visit, independently or with a friend.’
