Lyme Link Update

Lyme Link Update

SEVERAL timetable changes have been made to the Lyme Link community bus to help keep the service running efficiently.

Lyme Link, fully funded by Lyme Regis Town Council, was introduced in May but the council committed to reviewing the service six months after its launch.

The changes came into effect at the end of October and includes the removal of the Uplyme stop, which previously provided access to the Post Office for Lyme Regis residents.

However, the number of passengers using the Uplyme stop has been very low, with only five in June, six in July, and numbers in August and September similarly low.

The decision to withdraw the stop was informed by the opening of a Post Office counter at Waffle Lyme Regis and with the acknowledgement that the availability of the X51/X53 already provides a link between Lyme Regis and Uplyme.

The bus will now travel to the medical centre, where it will turn around before continuing its usual route.

The revised timetable introduces two additional stops at Somers Road and Blue Waters Drive, helping to improve accessibility for passengers living further up the hill and along the eastern side of the town.

Passengers are reminded that the Lyme Link bus now terminates at 10.17am, 11.31am and 14.21pm.

As always, residents are encouraged to check the full timetable displayed at bus stops around town, online via the town council website:
