Dorset Police launch Mobile Police Stations (MPS)

Dorset Police Mobile Police Station on Marine Parade Lyme Regis

Dorset Police have launched their new Mobile Police Stations (MPS), an important step forward in making policing more visible and improving community engagement across the county.

The MPS initiative will bring policing directly into towns, villages and rural communities, serving as accessible hubs where residents can connect with their local police team.

At the Mobile Police Stations, members of the public will be able to:

  • Report crime, anti-social behaviour or nuisance
  • Request information and advice on a wide range of matters
  • Make a complaint or discuss a civil dispute
  • Find out who their local officer is and how to contact them
  • Provide information and intelligence to support investigations
  • Report missing persons or lost and stolen property

In Lyme Regis, the MPS will be based as the Marine Parade Shelters on the second Thursday of each month, between 11am and 1pm (times are subject to change).

The stations will be staffed by trained PCSOs who can take reports, provide prevention advice and maintain full communication links with operational teams.

This ensures residents can access the same level of service they would expect at a police station, in a visible place within their communities.

The launch of the Mobile Police Stations is part of Dorset Police's wider Police and Crime Plan, designed to strengthen community relationships and ensure policing remains visible, accessible and responsive to local needs.
