Halloween Duck Race

Halloween Duck Race

Everyone will be going a little bit quackers in Lyme Regis this Halloween for a spooktacular duck race down the River Lym.

The yellow toy ducks will race down the river on Saturday 31 October at midday.

The ducks will be released at Windsor Terrace, before hurtling downstream in a mad paddle towards the finish line at Jordan Flats.

With Halloween falling on race day, expect plenty of quackers, creepy currents and a few spooky surprises as the ducks battle their way down the river.

There will be a host of cash prizes for the first, second and third ducks over the finish line and a bonus prize for the last duck that manages to negotiate the river course.

The first duck across the finish line wins £100, second and thirs will each win £20, and the last duck home will earn its owner £10.

You can buy ducks at https://www.lymeduckrace.co.uk/shop/product/heartbeatduckrace2026.

The organisers take their environmental responsibilities seriously, with volunteers ensuring all plastic ducks are captured in a giant net just after the finish line and stored until they race again.

All proceeds raised go to Lyme Heartbeat, a voluntary group that installs and maintains a network of 24 hour access defibrillators in Lyme Regis and Charmouth.
