From 14 September to 22 September 2026, the Highway Service at Dorset Council will temporarily pause the reporting of non-emergency highway issues.
During this period, residents will be unable to submit new reports for non-emergency highway defects and enquiries through their online reporting system or via Dorset Direct.
This temporary pause is necessary to support the introduction of a new highways asset management system.
What does this mean for residents?
Non-emergency highway reports and enquiries cannot be submitted between 14 September and 22 September 2026.
Existing reports already logged with the Highway Service will continue to be managed.
The new system is scheduled to go live on 22 September 2026, after which normal reporting services will resume.
Highway teams will continue to inspect and maintain the network during this pause, and day-day contact for members should not be disrupted. However, your support in minimising the escalation of non-emergency issues during this short pause would be greatly appreciated.
