Lyme Folk Weekend

Get ready for a foot-stomping, soul-tirring weekend as the Lyme Folk Festival returns to Lyme Regis this August bank holiday. The event brings with it a packed programme of free music and dance, community sessions, ceilidhs, and three unmissable headline concerts at the Marine Theatre.

Friday 29 August - Turin Brakes Acoustic

Kicking off the festival is a special acoustic performance by Turin Brakes, returning to Lyme 10 years after their last unforgettable set.

Celebrated for their stripped-back shows that sell out across the country, the Mercury Prize-nominated band will treat audiences to intimate acoustic versions of hits like Pain Killer (Summer Rain) and songs from their six top-40 albums.

As they put it: "We couldn't ignore all the love we got for the first acoustic tour. We decided to do it again and make it another very special and intimate performance."

Saturday 30 August - Ninebarrow & Friends

Festival patrons Ninebarrow return with their popular Ninebarrow & Friends show, a unique collaboration bringing together some of the finest names in folk music.

This year, they're joined by virtuoso guitarist Will McNicol, Guitar World's "one of the best acoustic players on the planet" (2021), and Yorkshire's acclaimed folk singer Jack Rutter, renowned for his soaring vocals and masterful arrangements.

Expect an evening of powerful music, from traditional tunes to contemporary covers, delivered with heart and skill.

Sunday 31 August - The Spooky Men's Chorale

Closing out the festival in unforgettable style is Australia's The Spooky Men's Chorale, a phenomenon of vocal brilliance, humour, and unexpected emotional power.

With seven albums and over 900 performances worldwide, this casually-hatted, black-clad chorus promises a show that is "just a bunch of blokes", but where they take you will truly blow your mind.

More Than Just Concerts

Alongside these headline acts, festival-goers can enjoy the free outdoor music stages, traditional dance displays, ceilidhs, workshops, and informal sessions filling the town with the joyful sounds of folk.

Whether you're a long-time enthusiast or simply looking for a weekend of community spirit, there's something for everyone.

Tickets for all Marine Theatre shows are available now via their website. Book early to avoid missing out on these spectacular performances.
