TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF VARIOUS ROADS, LYME REGIS
Dorset Council has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along VARIOUS ROADS, LYME REGIS; SOUTH AVENUE, LYME REGIS between its junction with North Avenue and its junction with Colway Lane, a distance of approximately 175 metres.
COLWAY LANE, LYME REGIS between its junction with Manor Avenue and the entrance to Slopes Farm, a distance of approximately 185 metres.
The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 19 January 2026 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 13 February 2026.
This Order will enable SGN safe access to carry out gas mains replacement.
The alternative route, which will be sign posted is as follows; Haye Lane - B3165 - A3052
