Biography
Stuart Newman joined the council as one of two town rangers in July 2026. The rangers patrol the council-owned car parks, open spaces and other areas, ensuring dog control orders, Council byelaws and parking regulations are adhered to. They will also liaise with the police and will soon be accredited through the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme, providing them with targeted, low-level police powers as non-police employees to tackle anti-social behavior and build safer public partnerships.
