THE wide range of opportunities for young people available locally were showcased at a special event at the Woodroffe School.
The school hosted the second annual young people’s activities and services fair, welcoming more than 200 students to explore what’s on offer in the local area.
Organised by the Jurassic Coast Social Prescribing Team, the ‘Get Involved, Feel Good’ event is built around a simple idea: rather than expecting young people to search for activities and support themselves, bring those opportunities together under one roof.
Students were able to browse the stands, meet activity leaders, ask questions, try new activities and discover clubs, services and hobbies that matched their interests.
A diverse range of organisations took part, offering opportunities in sport, creativity, volunteering, wellbeing, environmental projects and community involvement.
Students tried activities including boxing, drumming, dance, and river studies, while also learning more about sexual health, nutrition, mental wellbeing and skincare.
The Jurassic Coast Social Prescribing Team would like to thank the stallholders, volunteer students and school staff at Woodroffe School, as well as Jurassic Discovery, LED Axminster Leisure Centre, Lyme Regis Bookshop, Lyme Regis Town Council, Tunnel Tree Top, The Community Waffle House, and Baboo Gelato for donating to the event raffle.
