THE Cinema on the Beach event in Lyme Regis has been postponed due to the wet weather forecast.
The event was scheduled to take place on Saturday 2 May at 7pm, with a giant screen showing The Greatest Showman on the sandy beach.
Organisers Lyme Regis Town Council have reluctantly taken the decision to postpone the event, amid the prospect of heavy rain on Saturday evening.
Cllr Gail Caddy, chairman of the working group which organised the event, said: “It’s a shame we can’t go ahead with the open-air cinema event, but it’s the right decision given the expected weather conditions.
“We were expecting a large crowd on Saturday, but I doubt people will want to sit on the beach in the rain.
“The event will be postponed to a later date and we hope to announce the new date very soon.”
