Local beach cleans making a real difference

Community spirit was on full display at recent beach cleans in Lyme Regis organised by Turn Lyme Green, with residents coming together to care for our coastline.

At the 29 November beach clean, 22 volunteers collected an impressive 34kg of rubbish, helping to protect local wildlife and keep our beaches looking their best. Volunteers were rewarded with festive mince pies from Janet, while Baboo Gelato generously provided free coffees or ice creams - a welcomed treat after a productive morning.

The momentum continued into the new year, with another successful clean on Saturday 3 January, when 28 people turned out to help tackle litter along the shoreline.

The next beach clean is planned for Saturday 21 February, from 10am to 12 noon. Volunteers are invited to meet outside the RNLI Shop, with the usual arrangements in place - including a free coffee or ice cream from Baboo for everyone who takes part.

All equipment is provided, and everyone is welcome. Whether you can spare ten minutes or the full two hours, every bit of help makes a difference.
