Significant investment is being made into path improvements this autumn, with repair works starting from 17 November. The works are expected to take approximately 14 working weeks to complete.
Visitors to the gardens should expect some temporary disruption while the works to replace worn tarmac paths with a natural gravel surface and carry out patch repairs to incline paths take place. There will be heavy plant machinery in operation around the gardens during this time.
These upgrades will improve safety, durability, and the overall look of the gardens for the long term.
Essential improvement works are being carried out along the Stile Lane footpath to ensure it remains safe and accessible.
The path will be fully redesigned in the section between the two sets of steps.
For safety reasons, the footpath will be fully closed while these works take place, and the council thanks residents and visitors for their patience during this time.
