As part of Lyme Regis's heartfelt commemorations for the 80th anniversary of VE Day, the town was adorned with a striking display of Union Jacks, proudly lining Broad Street and surrounding areas, a true tribute to the spirit of remembrance and victory.
Behind the stunning visual display was the dedicated effort of Town Council staff, who worked tirelessly to erect the flags in time for the town's commemorations.
The result? A spectacular, patriotic scene that brough Broad Street to life, filling the town with colour, pride, and a fitting sense of occasion. Residents and visitors alike paused to admire the sight, a reminder of how small touches can make a big impact on community spirit.
The Town Council extends its thanks to all who were involved in the town's commemorative activities, including the beautiful and mesmerising torchlight parade, the over 70's cream tea, and the street parties that took place across the town. The day in Lyme Regis, truly honoured the memory of those who served, as well as the vibrant community we continue to build today.
