Cream teas, classic cars and morris dancing - Uplyme Fete is back!

Uplyme Fete is back

The much-loved Uplyme Fete is set to return this month, bringing with it an afternoon packed with entertainment and classic village fete fun.

Held on the beautiful grounds at the King George V Playing Fields, on Saturday 6 June 2026, the annual event has become a firm favourite in local calendars.

The fete draws families, friends and visitors together for a traditional summer celebration in the heart of the village.

This year’s fete promises plenty to enjoy, with fun rides, Punch and Judy, live music from Burning Bridges, Uplyme Cynewulf Morris Dancers, a dog show, classic cars, and an eclectic mix of stalls and games spread across the field.

Inside the village hall, visitors can enjoy cream teas served by volunteers, accompanied by entertainment from the Ukulele Band.

A variety of catering stall and drinks will also be available throughout the afternoon.

Organiser Pete Hackett said: “Despite last year’s rather soggy weather, the community still turned out in great spirits, proof of just how cherished the event has become. We are hoping for blue skies and sunshine to make this year’s fete even more memorable.”

Dogs are welcome on the field provided they are kept on leads.

Entry is £2, making it an affordable day out and a good opportunity to support a much-loved local community tradition.
